Steve brings a relentless passion for athletic development, forged through years of experience at the highest levels of sport. With a competitive background in professional MMA and rugby, his coaching style blends toughness with technical precision — and a commitment to unlocking every athlete’s full potential.

International Coaching Experience

For more than a decade, Steve has supported athletes and coaches across:

  • Four Olympic and Paralympic Games
  • The Commonwealth and European Games
  • Three national governing bodies

He has worked with elite performers from more than 10 countries, guiding them from grassroots to global competition.

Academic Foundation

  • FdSc in Strength, Conditioning & Sports Coaching
  • BSc in Sports Rehabilitation with Strength & Conditioning
  • MSc in Psychology — now integrated into his coaching to support high performance in sport, business, and life

Steve has coached across a wide spectrum of elite environments, including:

  • England Rugby U20s

  • Plymouth Argyle
  • Team GB Fencing
  • Lead S&C coach for British Fencing’s Athlete Development Programme
  • Performance coach for Denmark’s cadet, junior, and senior fencing teams

He understands the systems that take athletes from development to international podiums.

Current Coaching

Steve now works with youth athletes, clubs, and schools across Devon and Cornwall in sports such as football, rugby, athletics, NFL, netball, karate, and cricket. His individual and group coaching focuses on:

  • Mobility & injury resilience
  • Pre-event priming
  • Nutrition, recovery & performance lifestyle workshops

From Truro Fencing Club to the Teignbridge Titans, Shakespeare Swords to Musketeers Netball, Steve is trusted by athletes and teams who want to move better, get stronger, and perform under pressure.
